Residency FAQ

Resident FAQs

Why should i join the aocr?

It is important to affiliate with other osteopathic radiologists as a united representation for osteopathic radiologists. This provides an avenue of professional advancement and growth. The AOCR represents osteopathic residents at the AOA's meeting of the Council on Postdoctoral Training. We develop the standards for residency training. We provide an evaluation mechanism to inspect osteopathic training programs to assure standards are being met. We also monitor the programs to assure quality is maintained.

Also, membership fees have been waived for students, interns and residents. What a rare opportunity to get so much for so little!

How do I get my ACGME training approved by the AOA?

The AOCR can assist you in completing this process. You may call Mary Lentz, Postdoctoral Training Coordinator, at the AOCR office at 800-258-2627.

When can I sit for the Osteopathic board certification examination?

A candidate may sit for the Physics portion of the examination as early as his/her second year of residency training, and the Diagnostic examination as early as his/her third or final year of residency training. For further information you may visit the AOBR website at www.aobr.org or contact Karin Best at 312-202-8072.

How can i make my concerns known?

You may call and speak to any AOCR staff person listed in our directory.
